A great balance between control and focus when struck in the center, and colourful overtones on the outside. The Remo Controlled Sound Coated has the openness of a thinner drumhead, with added durability and control. Great for snare drums and toms, with both sticks and brushes.
The Remo Controlled Sound Coated is made with a single ply of coated 10mil film, plus a bottom control dot. These drumheads are warmer and less attacking than the Clear version, meaning they will blend in better with other instruments. The thinner single ply construction allows for good responsiveness, with a nice sustain. The 5mil center control dot means overtones won’t get out of control, and allows these drumheads to be hit harder and last longer. Tip: for a similar drumhead with more brightness, projection and attack, try the Clear version.
The Remo Controlled Sound Coated will give your drums a balanced sound, with good focus when struck in the center, and more overtones when struck towards the edge. A slightly warmer option that keeps responsiveness and sustain, this is a great all-round drumhead for snare drums and toms. Remo Controlled Sound Coated drumheads can be used with both drumsticks and brushes. The control dot is on the underside of the drumhead, meaning brushes can move freely.
As a resonant tom drumhead, the Controlled Sound Coated will give you more warmth and less sustain than a standard 10mil resonant head. This is useful if you want to keep some sustain, but don’t want the ringing to get out of control. For a controlled resonant drumhead that is slightly brighter, try the Controlled Sound Clear.
