Description
Instantly fatten up your drum sound – cut overtones, reduce sustain and add warmth, giving you a big and deep 70’s snare drum tone.
For a big, beefy drum sound with a deep and warm tone, the Big Fat Snare Drum is perfect. A flat plastic ring with rubber around the edge, this accessory can be easily added and removed from your drum to dramatically change the sound of your snare drum. It is weighted to provide more dampening and stability, stopping it from bouncing away when hit.
The Big Fat Snare Drum is available in 10″ to 16″ sizes, and a number of different options. The Original Big Fat Snare Drum is a solid flat circle, and gives the most dramatic change to your drum sound. This option completely cuts out sustain and overtones, leaving you with a short deep thud. Steve’s Donut Big Fat Snare Drum has a small circle cut out of the center, to allow for better snare attack. This version also gives better stick response, while still dramatically reducing sustain and overtones. The Donut-XL Big Fat Snare Drum has a large circle cut out of the center for a more open sound and greater snare attack. This version has the lightest effect on your drum sound, although it is still definitely very noticeable.
All three of the above Big Fat Snare Drum options are very well made, and will last for years. Big Fat Snare Drum also make versions with built-in tambourine jingles, if you want to add some extra crispness to your sound.
